Simple Tools for 3-Dimensional Image Processing

When:  Dec 12, 2017 from 13:00 to 14:00 (ET)
Presented by Sean McKinney, Ph.D., Stowers Institute for Medical Research

A new generation of approaches to in situ hybridization (ISH) using vendor kits and automated platforms has emerged over recent years. What started out as manual, single color, chromogen methods, has expanded to include dual chromogenic and fluorescent reporters. As refinements were made these time consuming, manual methods, were automated allowing for greater throughput and accessibility. The most recent technologic advancement allows the user to fully automate a 4-color fluorescent ISH assay. Since this work can be done in a single tissue section, it enables a greater understanding of mRNA relationships within the tissue microenvironment. This webinar will present our experience in running the assay for the first time and the challenges in developming a validated assay for clinical research.
